Awards and Prizes

I was honored to receive the prestigious Commonwealth Master’s Scholarship 2024, awarded by the UK Government, to pursue my MSc in Finance and Accounting at Imperial College London. This highly competitive scholarship was granted to only two Sri Lankans from a pool of applicants across 56 Commonwealth countries, representing diverse fields of study. 

In 2024, I successfully secured two University Research Council (URC) multidisciplinary grants. I'll be leading the first project, titled "Effective AI-Based Resource Distribution Management System for Hospitals" (Grant URC/515), with a value of LRK 25,000,000. Additionally, I'll be contributing as a Co-Investigator in the second project, "Predictive Models in Finance using Topological Data Analysis with Machine Learning" (Grant URC/444), which received LRK 15,000,000 in funding.  

Received the Teaching Excellence Award 2022 at the Faculty of Management, University of Peradeniya (UOP) awarded to the lecture with highest student and peer evaluation ratings, and commitment towards teaching.

Dr. Patrick Mendis Prize for being the Most Outstanding Student who has recorded excellent achievements academics, extra-curricular activities and other skills as well as remarkable leadership in the academic activities among all 1200 plus students from all 12 departments.

Best Employability Skills Achiever (BESA) is offered to the Undergraduate who has excelled in all academic , Extra & Co- Curricular activities , communication , leadership team work and industrial knowledge 

This award is presented to an undergraduate student at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura who has shown outstanding leadership skills in university activities, as determined through a series of interviews conducted by faculty members and industry professionals 

This award is presented for exceptional performance as the vice-captain of the Sri Lanka University Rugby team, which achieved 8th place in the world rankings, and for being the Top Try Scorer in the 2016 Sri Lanka University Games (SLUG) with an impressive total of 14 tries in 5 matches. 

This award is bestowed in recognition of becoming the Inter-University Wrestling Champion in the 70 kg category in 2015, marking the first wrestling gold medal won by the university in five years. Remarkably, this achievement was accomplished during my first year at the university. 

I received the prestigious Sri Lanka University Colours for rugby in the years 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018, a testament to my consistent exceptional performance in the sport. Additionally, in 2015, I was also awarded the Sri Lanka University Colours for Wrestling, an honor reserved only for those who exhibit outstanding performance at the national level in Sri Lanka.  

I was honored as a University of Sri Jayewardenepura Coloursman for my national-level achievements in Rugby and Wrestling from 2015 to 2018. 

For achieving CIMA- World Rank 6th (90 Marks) - Financial Operation 

In 2013, I was honored with the Leadership Award of Excellence, a recognition given to students who demonstrated exceptional leadership skills. This award acknowledged my dual role as a Rugby team captain and my academic leadership, highlighting my achievements in both areas. 

From 2010 to 2012, over three consecutive years, I was awarded school colours in recognition of my significant contributions to our school's rugby teams. My involvement was pivotal in our team securing the second place in the 2010 Rugby League, the 2011 All Island Sevens Rugby, and again in the 2012 All Island Rugby Tournament, marking a period of consistent high performance and team success. 

This award is granted in acknowledgment of achieving the Best Results in the School, securing four distinctions in Accounting, Economics, Business Studies, and General English, and attaining the 11th District Rank in Kandy
